Another medal on the chest of Ghani Glass limited was affixed when the Chief Executive Officer of Ghani Group. Mr. Imtiaz Ahmad Khan was designated for receiving the Businessman of the Year Gold Medal. The medal was awarded by the Honorable Prime Minister of Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the CEO for his outstanding services in the glass industry. Due to his international visits, the CEO´s medal was received by the Chairman Ghani Group – Mr. Aitzaz Ahmad Khan. The grandiose ceremony was held at the Governor House Lahore in May 2006.

A grand corporate customers’ and investors’ convention 2006 was arranged during December 12-14, 2006 at the thrilling ambience of Ras Al Khaimah, one of the seven fastest growing states of UAE. The conference was attended by the top line personalities of food & beverage sector of Pakistan. In these three days of convention a number of enjoyable and festive activities were also planned for the audience, which proved to be an exhilarating experience for all. Desert safari, night cruise, shopping fiesta, etc. was a part of the trip.

Ghani Glass Limited took another leap of establishing a joint venture project with two other partners for manufacturing of world class pharmaceutical glass containers in RAs Al Khaimah. The other two partners are the JS Group Pakistan and RAK Investment Authority, RAK. The Ground breaking ceremony was done by His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Sakr Al Qasimi of Ras Al Khaimah on December 13, 2006. The project, which is in the name of RAK Ghani Glass LLC, is the First Pharmaceutical glass containers manufacturing project in RAK featuring state-of-the-art European Technology. Initial capacity will be 40,000 tons p.a. glass containers, capable to produce 600 Million light weight bottles based on NNPB technology. The expected Commissioning date is May 2008. With an overall project cost of US$ 20–25 Million, the project has ample availability of land & services for future expansions.

This is will be a break through not only in the Pakistan's history but also worldwide that a float glass manufacture will be giving two colors within one years time. Brown color is being introduced and the brand name for this will be Ghani Brown, which will be available soon throughout Pakistan in full range of sizes and thicknesses from 2mm to 12mm.

Ghani Glass participated in the 5th International Food tech and plastic, printing and packaging exhibition at the Karachi Expo Center in May 2007. GGL had a very prominent stall, visible right from the entrance of Hall 1 of the expo center. National and international suppliers and packaging specialist companies exhibited their products, machineries and services at the occasion. GGL´s worthy customers were also invited on the exhibition. They appreciated the dazzling presence of Ghani Glass at the exhibition.

Ghani Glass Limited participated in the Pak Pharma Expo 2007 held in April this year at the Karachi Expo Center. The event´s exhibitors were well known national and multinational companies related to pharmaceutical industry of Pakistan. All major suppliers for the pharma industry were also an integral part of the expo. GGL´s pharma sales & marketing division presided the show. GGL´s major customers of pharma industry were also invited on this occasion.

Dealers and customers of Ghani Float from the Northern region of the country were also invited for convention. This was held in April this year at the Pearl Continental Hotel, Pindi. Full attendance was there with the participation of float glass related business people from Islamabad, Pindi, Peshawar and suburban small markets. Gifts were also distributed to sub dealers from the main dealers in recognition of their continued loyalty, trust and support for Ghani Float.

A dealers and customers convention for Lahore in Pearl Continental Hotel in Shalimar Hall. All note worthy customers/shop keepers of float glass of Lahore were present in the convention along with the two main dealers of Ghani Float from Bedon Road, Lahore. The Chief Executive Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, General Manager Marketing and main dealers addressed the gathering and thanked the float glass shop keepers, retailers and sub dealers for showing their confidence in Ghani Float. Future strategies were also discussed.

The inauguration ceremony of GHANI HOUSE at the Chand Bagh School was held in Muredke in January, this year. GHANI GROUP has sponsored construction of a marvelous GHANI HOUSE in this school, which is located 9 kms from Muridke in a peaceful and green environment. Top officials of Ghani Group were present at the inauguration ceremony, including Mr. Aitzaz Ahmad Khan (Chairman), Mr. Imtiaz Ahmad Khan (Chief Executive), Mr. Anwaar Ahmad Khan (Director Glass), Mr. Aftab Ahmad Khan (Director Procurement), Mr. Masroor Ahmad Khan (Director Finance), Chaudhry Pervaiz (Director Marketing – Ghani Automobiles) along with the Principal and noteworthy teachers of the school. Chaudhry Ilyas from CDL and Mian Ihsan from US Apparels were also present at the occasion. GHANI HOUSE accommodates about 80 students and provides full boarding facilities including meals, entertainment, indoor sports, etc. to all students. Ghani Group is highly concerned for the social, educational and academic uplift of the upcoming generation.

Iapex Karachi is the biggest event of our country, where all well known architects and personnel from related disciplines participate. GGL´s float glass division also participated in the recent exhibition held in December 2006. Various students from universities studying the architectural disciplines also visited the stall and liked the outlook of the stall. Architects also gave their useful and encouraging remarks in the guest book kept at the stall.

Ghani Glass Limited also launched its new website as www.ghaniglass.com. Due to the expanding business circle of GGL, an independent website was launched to disseminate and facilitate proper communication regarding our product range and product line to customers and prospects throughout the world. The website is being updated on regular basis and contains all information regarding Ghani Glass Ltd.

Ghani Green, the first ever green float glass of Pakistan, made in Pakistan, was launched by Ghani Float. This green float glass was made in all thicknesses from 2 mm to 12 mm. This tremendous effort from Ghani Float of going into color float glass within just one year of its operations also saved a lot of foreign exchange for the country, as the imports of green float glass from outside of Pakistan almost stopped.

Ghani Glass Limited participated in the Institute of Architects Association of Pakistan´s exhibition for the Lahore chapter, held in November 2006. Ghani Float´s attractive stall was set up in the Crystal Hall of PC. All prominent architects of Lahore attended the exhibition and visited the stall of Ghani Float. Ghani Float also sponsored the events conference by providing give aways for the participants.

The end of first year of Ghani Float, marking success of its overall operations, the dealers were taken on a holy trip for Omrah. Some of the team members also accompanied the dealers and all enjoyed the trip with their spouses. During Omrah, everybody prayed for ever lasting business life of Ghani Float and for the well being of its employees and every one associated with Ghani Float in one way or the other. The trip will remain ever green in the memories of the whole team.

Top three dealers were given bumper prizes at the Annual Dealers Convention 2006. The first prize of Suzuki Mehran car was won by Mr. Muhammad Rasheed – M/S Haji Rafeeq & Co. Lahore. The second prize of Ghani Motor Cycle was won by Mr. Qasim – M/S Qasim Brothers, Lahore. The third prize of Mitsubishi 1.5 tons AC was won by Mr. Haji Imtiaz of M/S Mujeeb Glass House, Faisalabad.

Top three sales personnel were also awarded with gifts on their achievement of attaining their targets and giving maximum sales to the company. First prize of 1 ton AC was won by Mr. Rana Waheed – Field Manager, Faisalabad. Second prize of a Nokia Mobile was won by Mr. Adeel Ilyas – Area Sales Executive, Lahore. The third prize of food factory was won by Mr. Fakhir – Area Sales Executive, Lahore.

Ghani Glass Limited participated in the 4th International PPPP exhibition. This exhibition was held at the Karachi expo center during May 9 - 12, 2006. This International fair show cased manufacturers and suppliers from around the globe. GGL was a part of the exhibition in the packaging & containers manufacturers section of the show. Glass containers including amber, flint and green for all types of pharmaceutical, food and beverage utilization were displayed in the event.

The attendants of the PPPP exhibition were taken on an exclusive dinner at the Golf Club, Karachi near Karachi Creek. The marvelous sea side dinner was also attended by a few international customers also. Participants of the local companies included esteemed customers of GGL of foods and beverages and some from the pharmaceutical division also. The Chairman of Ghani Group also graced the occasion with his presence.

The Honorable Lahore High Court, Lahore passed the order on May 29, 2006 for the merger of Ghani Float Glass Limited into Ghani Glass Limited. Two giants of the Pakistan glass industry have merged; Ghani Float Glass Ltd. (largest float glass manufacturer) into Ghani Glass Ltd. (largest manufacturer of glass containers). The merger has resulted in increasing shareholders value, augmented credibility of the company, increased benefits for employees and enhanced trust of customers and all stakeholders.

Dealers and Customers´ convention was held in fourth quarter of last fiscal year in Karachi at the Beach Luxury Hotel. Not only the dealers, customers and shop keepers from the glass market participated in the event, but also the people from allied industries like aluminium market, furniture market, safety glass, etc, were also present on the occasion. Attendance was complete with participants from Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur and Nawabshah markets. The convention was followed by sea side dinner.

Ghani Glass Ltd. believes in employee motivation, satisfaction and work place ease. To break the monotonous routine of the office environment, GGL arranges for some outdoor and relaxing activities on regular basis. Following this tradition, GGL arranged an inter-department tape ball cricket tournament. This was player under lights at night in the famous cricket stadium of The Model Town Society Lahore. The tournament was won by the Procurement department of Ghani Glass Limited.
